QR code creation & management

EPPAdoc generates QR codes for transparency, sustainability, and legal compliance

According to the current version of the EU Packaging Regulation, important information for consumers and end users must be provided on packaging via QR codes.

These details include:

  • Producer information such as name, trade name or trademark, postal address, electronic contact details, and the central office for enquiries.
  • Material composition data to help consumers sort packaging correctly.
  • QR codes can be generated directly with EPPAdoc. We are continuously enhancing our solution to include further details in the future – such as information on destination, reusability, or recycled content.
Effortless generation & management

The EU Packaging Regulation explicitly calls for labelling systems such as QR codes to be used on packaging, ensuring that key information is easily accessible. With EPPAdoc, a QR code is automatically generated for each product.

Use as digital advertising platform

The QR code generated by EPPAdoc can serve as a marketing platform, linking to videos, competitions, or other promotional content.

Link to your own website

The manufacturer’s URL is automatically embedded in the QR code and directs interested parties straight to the website.

EPPAdoc is a digital platform for the comprehensive capture of product and packaging data across the entire European Union, so that extensive legally mandated requirements, as well as the reporting and notification systems, can be standardized, centralized, and above all digitally recorded.

How does EPPAdoc support companies in complying with existing and upcoming legal requirements?2023-11-15T19:23:37+01:00

EPPAdoc

  • provides complete product management, capturing every detail in its database: product number, trade name, internal designation, packaging weight, product group, category (household or commercial), product image, and full manufacturer information.
  • provides sales volume management, tracking the sales volume of each product over specific periods.
  • supports manufacturers throughout the entire packaging licensing process. EPPAdoc calculates quantities for each period and, where possible, automatically submits the reports to the relevant collection and recycling system.
  • generates a QR code for every product, giving consumers instant access to all essential product information. The QR code is used both to provide mandatory disclosures to consumers and to optimise packaging reporting.
  • a QR code placed on the packaging gives consumers direct electronic access to the manufacturer’s website.
  • generates the mandatory declaration of conformity for each product. Manufacturers must provide an EU declaration of conformity confirming that their packaging complies with the relevant regulations.

The declaration of conformity must always be kept up to date. It must be translated into the language or languages required by the Member State in which the packaging is placed on the market or made available.

Manufacturers shall keep the EU declaration of conformity (as specified in Annex VII of the EU Packaging Regulation 2025) for five years after single-use packaging has been placed on the market, and ten years after reusable packaging has been placed on the market.
